An enlarged print of the redesigned $10 bill is displayed next to a security officer during a news conference to commemorate the first day of circulation of the new notes at the rotunda of the National Archives March 2, 2006 in Washington, DC. The new $10 note is the latest issue in the new series of U.S. currency, with features including color-shifting ink, watermark and security thread which are easy to check by naked eye. While regular citizens call 911 during life-threatening emergencies, this Florida drug dealer reports to the police for backup in his illegal business trade. Over the weekend, Eric Thomas contacted his home town police station in reference to a theft. He resides in Largo, a city in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. The station recalls the unusual call from the Florida drug dealer as he states, “he was selling marijuana, and someone stole $10 from him while attempting to sell it.”
While reporting the theft, Thomas had 11 baggies of pot in his hands- which is equivalent to 40 grams of marijuana. Currently, in Florida it is still illegal to posses marijuana with the intent to sell it. Officer Ricardo Morales states that Thomas, “made spontaneous statements about getting robbed while attempting to sell the marijuana.”
Two baggies were found in his wallet that contained were filled with a white powdery substance, while officers were conducting a post-arrest search. This substance was later found to test positive for cocaine.
This has not been the first time that police officers have ran into some unusual encounters with Thomas. Within the past year, he was convicted of marijuana, cocaine, and battery counts. Thomas also has a pending case where he was accused of possessing seven baggies of marijuana. When arriving to the court security checkpoint, Ziploc baggies were found when he emptied his pockets. Security discovered the accused baggies when he placed the baggies into the plastic trays.
Thomas was charged with various drug felonies and booked into the Pinellas county jail. His bond is set for $7000 and he remains at the county jail at this time.
These Are The Top 10 Party Schools In Florida; Ranked
School is in full swing for the 2023-2024 school year, and so is the football season, the Greek life and the college partying. Which schools are the top party schools in Florida?
Of course the parents of freshman who were just dropped off a few weeks ago are cringing as they read this. No doubt hoping that as they scroll they won’t see their child’s school listed as one of the top party schools in Florida.
The folks over at Niche recently released this year’s list of 2023 – 2024 party schools in the Sunshine State.
Methodology
The Top Party Schools ranking is based on student reviews and nightlife statistics. There are five factors that are considered when making the list.
- Student Surveys On Party Scene, 70%
- Access To Bars, 10%
- Athletics Grade. 7.5%
- Greek Life Grade, 7.5%
- Access To Restaurants, 5%
Student opinions obviously go a long way with these rankings. I mean, 70% of the grades coming from student surveys?! Wow, that’s basically the deciding factor here.
Seemingly absent from the top of the list are a few larger universities from the southern part of the state, including FGCU (#17). I was surprised not to see the University of South Florida (#12) in Tampa and Florida Atlantic University (#16) over in Boca Raton, too.
With that said, there were a few surprises at the top of the list. Several smaller schools have cracked into the top 10 on this year’s list of party schools in Florida.
