Elderly Florida Woman Flees Crash With Another Driver Hanging On To Her Hood
Car crashes are no joking matter and one elderly Florida woman took off from a crash with another driver hanging on to the hood of her car.
A 76-year-old Florida woman involved in a minor crash late last month in Palm Coast made an extremely normal situation very chaotic and dangerous. One would think an elderly woman would be very caring and concerned about the crash, but not this lady.
According to a statement by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Cheryl Henderson tried to flee with an idea of a classic hit and run in her mind. The other driver used her car to block Henderson from driving away. Shortly after, the other person involved in the crash got out of their car. They proceeded to walk towards the lady, who immediately hit the gas and headed directly towards them. Henderson’s vehicle was about to run over the other driver, but to avoid that, they jumped on the hood of the car.
Henderson took off with the other member of the crash still on her car.
That individual told police that Henderson drove onto a major road reaching speeds near 50 miles per hour. Meanwhile, the other driver was holding on for dear life. An additional driver noticed what was happening and quickly drove over to the woman to force her off the road. Thankfully the woman on the hood was able to get off the vehicle without any injuries.
Henderson was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. According to Sheriff Staly, “she should never be able to touch a steering wheel again.”
