Florida Man’s DMV Mistake Unveils Enough Fentanyl to Erase a Small City
Meet Christopher Wright, a 38-year-old from DeFuniak Springs, Florida, who recently found himself in a bit of a pickle with the law. It all began innocently enough with a classic case of a mismatched vehicle registration (not the Fentanyl). Uh Oh. Ya know, if you’re going to engage in illicit activities, at least make sure your paperwork is on point.
According to Yahoo News, Christopher was cruising down Highway 90 when the eagle-eyed deputies of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office noticed that his registration had some issues. But as it turns out, this traffic stop would have more thamn a paper trail of trouble. Clearly, the universe had other plans for Mr. Wright that day.
Welcome the K-9 unit. They’re the four-legged Sherlock Holmes of the law enforcement world. This furry detective had a search on the horizon, and was about to uncover something fishier than a seafood market on a hot summer day.
Fentanyl Discovered:
Lo and behold, the search unveiled a drug stash that could make Walter White raise an impressed eyebrow. Nearly 30 grams of fentanyl, a dash of meth, and some drug paraphernalia. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, that amount of fentanyl could theoretically take out a small army. Note to criminals: if you have a secret drug stash, maybe don’t take it on a scenic drive.
In the end, Christopher Wright, faced a laundry list of charges.Everything from trafficking fentanyl to possessing controlled substances without a prescription. He was promptly booked into the Walton County Jail, but fear not! Our man didn’t linger too long behind bars. Thanks to a $50,000 bond, he’s back on the streets, possibly planning his next vehicular adventure.
VIDEO: Florida Man Becomes Shark Bait While Fishing
Here in Florida a lot of people head out on the water hoping for a big catch, but one Florida man became shark bait while fishing.
Fishing here in Florida is a popular recreational activity. In Fort Myers and Cape Coral alone, there’s so many places to go. Whether it’s fishing from shore or heading out for a deep sea adventure. A day on the water is always a good idea. And it’s made even better if you come home with a good haul. I grew up fishing, so when I moved to Florida, I was thrilled that I could do it year-round. My backyard is a big pond, so even just stepping out and throwing in a line is fun and relaxing.
Usually fishing is a pretty tame activity. However, one Florida man had a shocking encounter last week at Everglades National Park. The man, just identified as Nick, was out with a group of friends Friday morning in Florida Bay. The fish were biting and everything was fine, until it wasn’t. Nick had bent over the side of the boat to wash his hands and to his surprise, a lemon shark came and bit him, pulling him off the boat and into the water.
Thankfully, the group of friends were able to get Nick back on the boat and back to the dock where a ranger initially treated him. The Daily Mail reports he was then airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center and treated for an undisclosed injury.
