When you think of how many pizza places there are, it’s a pretty big deal that one Florida restaurant has some of the BEST pizza in America.

Being from Chicago, I consider myself a bit of a pizza connoisseur. While Chicago style is my favorite, I enjoy it all. You can’t go wrong with dough, sauce, cheese and toppings galore. My go-to is a thin crust with sausage, onion and green pepper. But I also enjoy a good deep dish with a delicious buttery crust for when I’m feeling really hungry. But then again, New York style pizza, Detroit style pizza, Roman, Sicilian and Tavern style… I like it all. I love that here in Florida you can get lots of different kinds and one Gainesville restaurant has some of the best pizza in America.

Taste of Home put together a list of the best pizza in every state. For us in Southwest Florida, it’s a bit of a hike to Gainesville, but it sounds like it’ll be worth it. Not only is Satchel’s Pizza named the best pizza spot by Taste of Home in the state of Florida, but among the best in the entire country. The custom pie at Satchel’s is what they recommend.
