Selena Gomez Makes Fastest Return Ever Back to Social Media
Selena Gomez attends the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton on January 07, 2024 in Beverly Hills, California.
Selena Gomez’s break from social media to focus on “what really matters” lasted a total of 20 hours. Though Gomez claimed she would be “off social media for a while,” the Only Murders in the Building star lived up to fans’ expectations by being back much sooner than she advertised. One person on X (formerly Twitter) called out Gomez on her social media “breaks,” writing: “Someone on Reddit said they think Selena Gomez thinks a social media break is when you close the app and I think that’s exactly right.” Another person commented: “see you tomorrow.” Meanwhile, another person wrote: “same energy as ‘i’m never drinking again’ yea okay.”
Gomez was back on Instagram Wednesday (January 10), sharing a photo with renowned chef Gordon Ramsey on her Story. Sharing a link to the video, Gomez said Ramsay showed her how to make an “amazing breakfast burger” as part of the chef’s “Scrambled” series. While having the Hell’s Kitchen host in her kitchen, he asked Gomez how she makes her scrambled eggs and tried to be as polite as possible to explain why his methods are best.
Following the weekend’s Golden Globes, rumors swirled between Gomez and Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Timothee Chalamet. Some people thought Kylie blocked Selena from saying hi to the Wonka star. Meanwhile, Timothee shut down any beef between Kylie and Selena. Selena herself addressed the rumors, saying that in a much-circulated video from the Globes, she was telling Taylor Swift that two of her friends had hooked up, “not that that’s anyone’s business.”

In October, she revealed on her Instagram Story that she would be stepping back from her socials “because my heart breaks to see all the horror, hate, violence and terror that’s going on in the world.”
