Who knew that ordering fried chicken in Lake City could comes with a side of felony? I always thought the only crime was not getting enough delicious dipping sauces. Not possessing a whole arsenal in the Zaxby’s parking lot.
According to NBC2, a 26-year-old man named Bryan Chapman landed in the legal fryer when he was discovered in a restaurant parking lot with much more than just a box of chicken wings. DeSoto County authorities were on the hunt for Chapman, who was wanted on a weapons possession charge.
Last week, in the parking lot of a Zaxby’s restaurant, a sheriff’s deputy happened to smell more herbs than spices coming from a parked car. Inside the vehicle were two individuals, one of whom turned out to be Chapman. The deputy, not only detecting the scent of weed, but was also alerted to the fact that Chapman had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Fried Chicken Box:
Chapman had all kinds of fun activities on his list of charges too. Possession of a weapon, counterfeit bills, and counterfeiting tools. This guy was hungry for crime! Plus, the DeSoto County warrant specifically accused him of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. However, things got really spicy during a thorough search of Chapman’s car when authorities stumbled upon a firearm, counterfeit tools and some fake cash, stashed inside his meal box! This dudes craving for crime has no end!
Poor Bryan Chapman. He must order his legal troubles, extra crispy. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office wasted no time in putting Chapman behind bars. He now faces the consequences of producing and possessing counterfeit money. He won’t be putting his greasy fingers to work on making funny money anytime soon. Oh, and no more fried chicken for him, at least not from the confines of jail. Talk about a major cluck-up.
