Tampa Bay Party Island For Sale
Pine Key Island in Tampa Bay, or, as its affectionally known “Beer Can Island” is officially up for sale. The 9 acre island rests between Apollo Beach and MacDill Air Force Base and includes another 60 acres of surrounding submerged land. The legendary Tampa Bay Party island officially goes to auction in mid-March but come strong with your offer. According to Bay News 9, the owners “just recently kind of turned down a $12 million offer.”
The current owners bought the property in December of 2017. Prior to their purchase, it was a lawless party area for boaters and campers. That’s how it got the nickname “Beer Can Island.” After the purchase, bathrooms, trashcans, food trucks and security guards were added. Memberships were sold that provided use of private structures and a designated camping area. But there are hazards to owning your own island.
The area is currently unzoned from Hillsborough County. Which means that any planned improvements are not automatically cleared. It becomes a dicey area. The county wants the island to be a nature preserve, so there may be some legal issues that come along with the purchase. Erosion is also an issue. Not just from the every day tides, the island was submerged under several feet of water during Hurricane Idalia.
If you’re not scared, and ready to own your own island in Tampa Bay, the auction begins in March. Can’t wait? You can jump on this now. To submit a cash or crypto offer please contact (813) 434-3366. According to the island’s website “Immerse yourself in the possibilities Beer Can Island presents. Explore the myriad opportunities, witness its enchanting beauty, and envision the lifestyle that awaits.”
Owning your own Tampa Bay party island would be incredible.
Pine Key Tampa Bay (the island’s official name) is absolutely legendary with boaters and partiers alike. Whether the island remains a party destination, or becomes a private residence, is up to the new owners.
