Father Son Snake Hunting Duo Nab 3rd Largest Python Ever Caught In The Glades
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, snakes are not my thing, but one father son snake hunting duo nabbed the 3rd largest python ever caught in the Glades.
I’ve had a fear of snakes starting at a very young age. It’s not just that I don’t like them, but unfortunately had two very scary incidents occur with a python that was a friend of mine’s dad’s. Waking up to one wrapped around a bed post licking your face is enough to scare anyone, especially a 6 year-old kid. You’d like 30+ years later, I’d be over it, but nope. So I appreciate those that go out and hunt them. Because you won’t find me out there. And the more snakes we can get rid of, the better.
Father Son Snake Hunting Duo Nab 3rd Largest Python Ever Caught In The Glades
The 2024 Python Challenge has officially wrapped up and one father son duo had an experience they’ll never forget. While this snake didn’t count due to time restrictions towards this year’s challenge, the pair, with the company C1Catch1, caught an 18-foot python along US-41 in the Big Cypress National Preserve. The father, Carl Nicholson Sr. told NBC2 that he’s been catching pythons for a long time, but this was something special.
Absolutely crazy to see a snake that big, especially on two big guys like them. This snake is exactly 18 feet long, making it the 3rd largest Burmese python to ever be caught in the Everglades.
I love that their love of snake hunting has turned into a family affair. Nothing like father son bonding while trying to nab slithery creatures like these. And if you’ve ever thought of going python hunting yourself, this team will show you the ropes. According to their Facebook page, you can book a python adventure with them.
