The yearly Southwest Florida Ag Expo opens its gates at the Lee County Civic Center Complex in North Fort Myers on February 27. Admission on opening day will be just $1.
At 3:30 p.m., organizers will cut the ceremonial ribbon at the Bayshore Road location. At 4 p.m., tickets become available online, allowing attendees to purchase in advance. Adult tickets are $10, while children ages 4-11 get in for $5.
A $30 Mega Pass offers the best value available. This one-day ticket covers entry and unlimited rides, making it a better choice than buying separate admission and ride tickets.
The event highlights young farmers as 4-H clubs, PeeWees of SWFL, and Future Farmers of America members show off their animals. Two major sales wrap up the shows — March 7 features the Small Animal Auction with poultry, rabbits, and cavies, while March 8 hosts the Market Animal Auction.
“For the youth livestock exhibitors, showcasing their animals at the Ag Expo is the culmination of weeks and months of dedication,” organizers told North Fort Myers Neighbor. “The highlight for many youth participants is the Market Animal Auction on the last Saturday of the Ag Expo. Countless hours have been spent feeding, honing their showmanship skills, conditioning and practicing grooming for this event.”
Guests shouldn't miss daily shows by The Moogician and the amazing Agricadabra Magic and Hypnosis Show. Musicians and roaming performers add life to the fairground atmosphere throughout the event.
Under the theme "An Ag-citing Adventure Awaits," educational exhibits blend with entertainment. While some spots teach modern farming methods, others come alive with carnival fun and family activities.
The Lee County Civic Center Complex is located at 11831 Bayshore Road.
