Harbor Springs Mattress Co. has opened up shop in Naples, Florida — its first location outside Michigan. The new store at U.S. 41 and First Avenue South will have its grand opening on March 6. The company made the move after two years of successful Florida deliveries.
“We had been hearing for years and years that we would do really well down here,” Dar Charlebois, president and co-owner of the company, told Gulf Coast Business. “I would say two years ago we had enough orders that we sent our own delivery truck down with 10 to 12 mattresses scattered throughout Southwest Florida. At that point, we definitely knew it was time.”
The 1,500-square-foot showroom is located inside Stella Naples, on the former site of the Sea Shell Motel. Unlike typical mattress stores, this one comes with a unique feature: a bar serving coffee and spirits.
Each mattress takes five to six weeks to make. The hand-tufting and natural materials they use create beds that last 25 years —much longer than typical store-bought mattresses.
Every bed includes a one-of-a-kind guarantee. The nonprorated warranty covers each mattress, which is made using traditional methods handed down over generations.
