Coastal locations in Southwest Florida will host special events this Saturday, Oct. 11. Each site plans activities about sea creatures, nature protection, and spooky fall fun. The Shell Museum, Wonder Gardens, and Nature Center picked the same day for their programs.

At the Shell Museum, Shelloween brings kids on underwater treasure hunts through decorated tanks. Young scientists can mix up gooey slime in special classes. Everything is included in the cost of admission.

The fun continues Oct. 18 and 25. Anyone dressed as a sea creature gets free entry on the final Saturday. The Shell Museum joined "Museums for All" to welcome more visitors. Sam Ankerson, who runs the museum, wants everyone to see their exhibits.

The night comes alive at Wonder Gardens' Boo-tanical Evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Kids paint their faces, play games, and meet animals. "We are thrilled to bring back our 'Boo-tanica' event, complete with delightful decorations, family-friendly activities, animal enrichment, and much more," said Kaitlyn Henry, who runs the living exhibits, according to Naples Daily News.

Wonder Gardens costs $17 for adults, $15 for seniors, $12 for kids 3-12, and under 3 gets in free, as do members.

Jon-Michael Comly steps in to run the kitchen at the new Bonita Fish Company. "Jon-Michael is an excellent addition to the team," said Joe Harrity of FHM Restaurant Group.

While Collier County continues to fund its conservation work, Lee County has cut funding for its Conservation20/20 program.
