The Fort Myers Seafood & Music Festival has been rescheduled to April 10-12. Organizers postponed the event that was supposed to start this weekend when forecasts showed temperatures in the 40s, with potential wind gusts of 35 mph and possible rain.

Paragon Festivals announced the postponement through social media and on their website. The waterfront celebration will stay at Centennial Park along the Caloosahatchee River in downtown.

"To ensure the safety of the performers, the integrity of your equipment, and the comfort of our attendees, we feel it is best to move the event to a later date in the season," Paragon Festivals wrote.

Organizers are working to reach all vendors and confirm their availability for the new spring dates. The team faces a tight turnaround to reschedule the fifth annual event, which draws thousands each year.

The celebration features music across multiple stages. Genres span R&B, jazz, rock, reggae, and Caribbean styles. A marketplace with local artisans selling handcrafted items and specialty goods will fill the grounds between performances, giving attendees plenty to browse.

Fresh seafood from Florida's coastal waters will take center stage on the menu. Shrimp, fish, crab and oysters headline the offerings. Options for meat-eaters and vegetarians will also be available, along with side dishes and desserts. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served throughout the venue.

Last year's performers included Thunder Beach, Rock Candy, K-Luv & United Funk Foundation, Kettle of Fish, Twinkle & Rock Soul Radio, Memphis Lightning, Deb & the Dynamics, 22N, Luna & the Warriors, Billy Rice Band and the Gas House Gorrillas. This year's lineup hasn't been announced yet.

General admission to the event is free. The riverside location provides views of the Caloosahatchee River during the three-day gathering, making it a popular spot for families and tourists alike.
