Meet Sunny 106.3’s newest Pet of the Month and help us find a home for a dog named Remy. Remy is currently at the Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS) in Fort Myers and has only been up for adoption for a couple of days. Remy is a such a sweet dog with a sad backstory. She was seized by Lee County officials because of abuse and neglect by her previous owner.
That’s not all. She had three puppies that were also rescued. She just finished nursing them and was severely underweight from both the nursing and the neglect when she was taken into the shelter. However, Gary Willoughby, executive director of GCHS, says she is putting on weight and getting better by the day. Gary estimates that she will be in the 50-60 pound range once she gets to a more healthy weight. Remy was just spayed as well.
She is a three-year-old terrier mix and has such a great disposition in spite of her neglect. She loves people and attention. The dog did well in the kennel and also on the car ride to the studio. In addition, she is house broken. Her eyes are beautiful and reflect her resilient spirit. Is it time for you to add a pet to your home? Stop by the Gulf Coast Humane Society and meet here.
One more thing. We have some good news to share about last month’s Pet of the Month, Foxie. Foxie found a new forever home.
