Today is the last day of school for my two teenagers. Camp might not be happening this summer, which means what will we do?? I really don’t want phones and tablets in their faces all summer. I did a little research, came up with a few things…

  Head out for a nice walk for a few hours in the morning. There are many trails and parks in SWFL to go to!

• Start A Garden

  This is a good thing to start now, and see where it is at at the end of the summer...Who knows, you might have enough for a great salad!!

• Volunteer

  In these uncertain times, give back!! Help out at the food back, see what you can do!!
• Limit This!!!

  Decide on “Allowable Device Hours”: Set limits for how much screen time is “reasonable” each day. The end goal for this part of the discussion is to have a consensus on what hours of the day devices are allowed: “The Allowable Device Hours for Monday through Friday are…”You get it..

• Make A List!!

  Have a family meeting. Explain during the school year, school is their “primary “job,” but that now, during the summer, pitching in to keep the home nice is their “primary “job.” In a brainstorming fashion (where you go around the table and have everyone suggest something; no ideas are off limits; and then you go back and narrow down the list), have everyone come up with some of the jobs that must be done to keep the home nice.
