“Billboard” has published their list of the best movie soundtracks of all time.
Music and movies go hand in hand. Whether it’s a romantic comedy, horror flick, musical, or anything else, the music is a key part of the movie experience. And who doesn’t love a good movie soundtrack? A good one can really set the tone for a film and bring an emotional connection with its viewers. Many times, there will be a hit single associated with the movie that will become an instant classic.
If you were to ask me my favorite, it would definitely be a tough choice. I would have to go with a 3-way tie between Detroit Rock City, Dazed and Confused and Almost Famous. If you know what these movies are about and the time they’re set in, you can tell there’s a theme here. But driving around with the windows down and the music up makes me feel like I’m right there with them. And let’s be honest, what girl wouldn’t want to be Penny Lane if even for a day? And since we’re talking about her, here’s almost my favorite quote of hers: “We are not Groupies. Groupies sleep with rockstars because they want to be near someone famous. We are here because of the music, we inspire the music. We are Band Aids.”
Ok, back to movie soundtracks. Of course with both music and movies, what you love might not be what I love, but these soundtracks have played an integral role in many films throughout history. This list was created based on how many weeks each soundtrack spent at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 album sales chart.
Whether you’re looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane or just some new music to jam out too, you’ll find something here that fits your tastes perfectly. So grab your popcorn, sit back, relax, and enjoy these classic tunes from some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.
