Here are this week’s Fabulous Finds for holiday entertaining and giving. Also, good snacking.
Some people come up with the best ideas. These first two are for those who like to make cocktails but want to do more socializing than mixing and measuring. I don’t have a dehydrator for fancy garnishes, however, Herb & Lou’s does. They have packaged these great dehydrated lemon wheels and half wheels of blood oranges. It’s the little things that can elevate a basic cocktail. I’ve used these as a garish on the rim of a glass or floated them on top. You can even put an herb leaf on the wheel for extra color and flavor. A pack of 12 is $9. These are fabulous stocking stuffers.
Herb & Lous also makes these flavor packed cubes. Use them in place of a table full of mixers. First, you toss the cube tray into your freezer. Once the liquid freezes, you pop and toss a cube into your glass. Next, let it melt and infuse the flavors. Cocktails just got easier. I like the Meyer Lemon daiquiri with bergamot, chamomile and vanilla. They also make a blood orange ginger old fashioned cube that my neighbors love. The cubes come in a range of flavors In addition, these are perfect for mock-tails, non-alcoholic cocktails. Just float them in club soda with one of those dehydrated wheels and you are good to go. A 6-pack is $16.
Fabulous finds for holiday entertaining AND snacking
I’ve got one more fabulous find for snackers. Popcorn tins are hugely popular for holiday gifts. But nothing sucks more than opening one to find stale kernels. Or even worse, ones that just don’t taste good. It happens. Not with Johnson’s Popcorn. If you’ve ever been to Ocean City, NJ, you’ve probably seen them on the famous boardwalk. They’ve been making popcorn and other treats since the 1940’s and they ship. First of all, the packaging is great. Second, the popcorn is FABULOUS. This is the kind that you don’t want to put down. I had the peanut crunch in a beach bucket and it was awesome. Prices start at $24.95.
Here are some of the popcorn tins specifically for the holidays. Also that beach bucket…it’s so cute! And finally, more of Herb & Lous goodies.
