It happened Thursday night. James Corden’s emotional farewell to late night TV. The James Corden Late Late Show has been airing on CBS for the last eight years. For his final episode, the audience chanted his name, his mother got teary eyed in the audience and there was an impressive cast of cameos from famous folks. They included other late night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel, comedian Will Farrell, singer Harry Styles and lots more.
One of the comedian’s most famous segments is Carpool Karaoke. It’s where he gets into a car and drives with celebrities while singing their songs, and sometimes those of other artists. It’s something so basic, so relatable, because we all sing in the car. Now we get to see some of our favorite stars doing the same thing. The conversation that surrounds the songs is also great.
James’ last guest in Carpool Karaoke was his best friend, Adele. The two drive around LA, and this time, she does the interviewing. The segment is particularly sentimental. It’s also very relatable. Has one of your best friends ever moved away? Have you ever had to leave a place and people you love deeply? I think almost everyone has experienced it on some level. These two friends drop the curtain and let us in on their raw emotions and feelings. It really is touching.
