If you love to travel but hate changing planes. Things might be getting a little easier for you thanks to three new nonstop flights from Fort Myers. The flights are on Avelo Air. Avelo, it rhymes with yellow or jello just in case you were wondering.

The airline began operating last year, April 28, 2021.  It currently only flies direct from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) to Connecticut's Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN).

AveloAvelo Airlines

The airline is budget but still offers at least one perk that is important to many. One that seems to have been long forgotten by most of the big guys. We're talking about changing and canceling itineraries with no penalties, no extra fees.

However, there is a fee structure for other things that you might want or need. So be sure to check the fine print. We're talking both checked bags and overhead bags, along with priority boarding.

Best part of this is the price. The introductory fares begin at $69 so they are worth checking out. Just remember this is base rate so do your homework. Another thing to consider, and it's a big one. These are direct flights. With all of the issues this year concerning lost bags and missed connections. Direct flights have become a valuable commodity for sure.

I love travel and always like to pass on information that might make it easier of you to get out of town. Not that we don't love it in SWFL but visiting other places, seeing people we love, is good for the soul.

The flights begin just in time for the holidays, on November 11th. So just where are these three new nonstop flights from Fort Myers going?

Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina

Kalamazoo, MI

Lansing, MI
