Here are your Weekend Vibes, what’s happening in Southwest Florida March 10-12. Baseball, taco fest, shrimp fest, parades, and art shows aside, the first thing we need to mention is Daylight Savings Time. It happens Sunday at 2am. If you need some tips on how to cope with the loss of an hour of sleep, click here. Remember we spring forward. This is the time of year where you risk being late to things if your clock doesn’t change automatically.
There are lots of outdoor activities in Southwest Florida this weekend as you will see when you scroll down. However, baseball Spring Training is still one of the highlights. There are three teams in Lee and Charlotte Counties with lots of games being played. In Fort Myers you can see the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins. In Port Charlotte it is the Tampa Bay Rays. What else is happing this weekend
In addition to baseball, there is a taco festival, art shows, St Patrick’s Day parades and perhaps the most notable, the Fort Myers Beach Shrimp Festival. Hurricane Ian’s devastation, has made it nearly impossible to put on the annual event on in it’s usual fashion. Instead, businesses are getting together this weekend with music and events surrounding all things shrimp, to keep the spirit alive. Do you have any events to share? Send them to this email address.
Finally, we understand there is still a lot of hurricane recovery under way. Many businesses in Southwest Florida are still closed and many people still without a place to live. However, more places are opening and more residents are finding relief. If you feel like getting out and about, we have a few ideas here. But then again, if you are not feeling so great mentally that is OK. We want to offer some resources that might help. Click here to find a few.
