Getting a peek inside of different animal’s habitats can be a fascinating experience.

The Wonders of Wildlife museum in Springfield, Missouri has a series of exhibits that’ll make you feel like you are one with nature.

The museum has two different sections the wildlife and aquarium galleries. On their website, they state that the wildlife galleries are a “fully immersive” experience which shows guests “the history of the conservation movement.” Those who are willing to explore can “go eye to eye” with a variety of stuffed animals in their makeshift natural habitat.

Most of the species that are placed on display are from the New York Bronx Zoo in 1908. Johnny Morris, the Bass Pro Shops founder told CNBC, “[President] Roosevelt was concerned about the management of fish and wildlife, he wanted these trophy animals displayed to send a shocking message that if we don’t have good laws and regulations we could lose our buffalo and other wild free ranging animals.”

Throughout the museum, you can travel to the rolling valleys of Africa all the way to the icebergs of the Artic. As guests enter the different exhibits, the climate changes in order to mimic the true habitat. Each area has hand painted landscapes, which took approximately six years to paint.

On the aquarium side of the museum, there are 1.5 million gallons of tank space. Each tank features a series of animals and guests can get the chance to even pet stingrays.

The Wonders of Wildlife museum also has a variety of outreach programs, camps educational programs, birthday parties, and overnight programs.

With over 800 species on display, this is certainly unlike any museum you have experienced before.
