Everyone needs a little space for themselves, and it's not just the women. Men need it too!
Rather than taking over the living room or basement, use that spare space to create your own room that you will enjoy. A manly room. No cutesy pillows here.
MAN STUFF.
Okay, here are some ideas:
THE BAR
The typical essentials for a Man Cave always seem to include a bar. You can make it either classy or kitchy, but either way, it'll be fun. You can do wooden finishes, or you can opt for a bottle cap bar instead.
THE GAMER
You may at first glance think this is very childlike, but honestly, how many men are out there that play video games and want to hold onto their systems? It's literally a bookshelf turned sideways and it keeps all the systems organized. You can even take it one step further if you don't have every single system, and put the system on the top of the shelf and then the bottom can be bins of games.
THE ENTERTAINER
The comfy couches and a mounted TV. Great for loafing around, watching movies, or catching a game on the tube.
GIVE IT A STYLE OR THEME
Don't just throw any old thing together. Make it yours. Like pool? Like cars? You can theme it up without being too cheesy, trust me.
IF YOU DON'T DO A BAR
At least have snacks and drinks. We get it. Bars can be expensive. However, getting a mini fridge, feeding the cord through the back of the chest? That's just fine.
DON'T FORGET THE INTRICATE STUFF
Tying a room together isn't just about the big stuff. Be sure to look into drawer handles, bottle openers, light switches, or even lamps that will bring the room together in a cool way, rather than just any old spare stuff you've got lying around.
Give it a personality, make it yours, and make it be someplace you actually want to spend time!
