Collier County Sheriif’s Deputies arrested 26 year old Graciela Cruz-Padron after she showed up at an elementary school to pick up her child and school officials determined that she was “too high” to be driving. Cruz-Padron also left another child in the car alone for close to an hour, however the car was running and the A/C was on. DCF is investigating, and the suspect was booked into the Collier County Jail.
Fort Myers Police were on the scene overnight at the Fly Lounge on Colonial Boulevard responding to a pair of overdoses. Both people were taken to the hospital and will be OK. Police have made dozens of visits to the Fly Lounge..almost 100 in the past year.
An altercation at a home on Evans Avenue is Fort Myers led to an unidentified woman being set on fire...Police have a suspect in custody...If you have any information you're asked to contact authorities
It reminds me of the title of an old Don Ho song...but it looks like Lee County will allow a company to use tiny bubbles to try and combat the blue-green algae problem that is plaguing our area canals. Solitude Lake Management will perform the demonstration in North Fort Myers at no cost to the county. AECom, will continue working in Cape Coral vacuuming algae out of canals and carting it off to a processing center, but if the bubble project works, it could be expanded to the Cape.

Google App Let’s Parents Turn Off Kids Phones Remotely
- Google is looking out for parents.
- They just added a new feature to their popular Family Link app that allows parents to remotely turn off their kid's phones.
- Family Link allows kids under 13 to have Google accounts however they are linked with parental controls.
- Family Link will now be available to all Google users.
- Parents can use the app to set screen time limits, lock devices, and even to approve or block specific apps.
- Users over 13 must give permission first, but if they grant mom and dad permission and then try and revoke it, they will be locked out of their account for 24 hours.
- Google is also integrating it’s Google assistant into the app so parents can voice the specific commands rather than having to actually use the app.
- The features will be fully rolled out next week.
