Smartphones have seemingly become a necessity in many people's lives, but there's a new cell phone out there that is trying to buck all of the technology trends.

Created by Joe Hillier and Kaiwei Tang, The Light Phone is a minimalist's dream and doesn't have any apps. Instead, it functions on making and receiving phone calls and texts. It doesn't even allow for email, let alone social media. Of course, there are general tools built-in like a calculator, a calendar and a section for taking notes, but there isn't even a web browser!

As crazy as this sounds in today's age of smartphones, The Light Phone completely sold out, and now The Light Phone II is the next in line with pre-orders for the device taking place beginning on March 15, 2020.

To learn more about the device, including details on their service plans, head over to TheLightPhone.com.
