Katy Perry posted a clip of her ugly crying and the notorious ugly crier herself, Kim Kardashian, let her know she can totally relate. The American Idol judge shared the clip on Instagram this week after a contestant drove her to tears.

In a super-zoomed close-up of her sad face, Perry, 38, captioned the clip, "hi this is my ugly cry face. watch #idol now to get urs." Contestant Fire started crying after her duet partner had to quit the competition before their performance of Adam Lambert's "Whataya Want From Me." As she sang, "There might've been a time when I'd give myself away," Fire broke down in tears.

Her last-minute duet partner picked up the slack and put her arm around her. The emotional moment on stage drove both Perry and judge Lionel Richie to tears as well. After wiping away her tears, Perry told Fire, "I'm proud of you."

Kim, who is well-known for her ugly crying, took to the comment section to write, "We all have one." The Kardashians star's comment garnered over a hundred reactions. One user wrote, "LMAOOOO best comment ever." Meanwhile, another added, "iconic response." Another commented, "omg queen," with sobbing emojis. Another fan of the crying sisterhood wrote, "this comment needs to go down in history." While another fan agreed with Kim, writing, "especially you love."

Last month, Perry was slammed for shaming a contestant for being such a young mother of three. After Sara Beth told the surprised judges this, Katy Perry stood up and leaned against the table. "If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out," the visibly nervous Sara Beth said. Perry cheekily quipped, “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much!”

Shortly after the audition aired, Sara Beth took to TikTok to comment on Perry’s “joke,” saying it “wasn’t super kind.” Over the weekend, Sarah Beth announced she was exiting the reality competition during the first episode of Hollywood week.

“This opportunity is really rad but this is actually going to be my last performance ’cause my heart’s at home. So I’m gonna get home to my babies. They kinda need me,” Sara Beth said following her performance of The Police’s “Roxanne.” She then rushed off the stage leaving the judges confused as to what was happening. After the judges asked to talk to her, she came back on stage.

Perry told her, “Life is scary. I also know that it’s easier to walk away than to be rejected, but then I also know that you lose out on your fullest potential. I know that you love your family for your kids. I know that as a mother. But remember, self-love is just as big as motherly love. Don’t leave the competition.” In response, Sara Beth just said, "Thank you," and left.

17 Celebrities That Constantly Get Mistaken For Each Other

There are over seven billion people alive on this Earth. So the possibility of a doppelgänger walking around looking exactly like you is highly probable. A doppelgänger is defined as a biologically unrelated look-alike, or a double, of a living person. In fiction and mythology, a doppelgänger is usually seen as a harbinger of bad luck or seen as an evil twin. Research has found that people who are "true" look-alikes have more similar genes than people who don't feature a resemblance to one another.

Doppelgängers In Media

Doppelgängers have made their way into modern literature, films, and television. Some of our favorite examples include the series finale of Twin Peaks. In the chilling scene, Special Agent Dale Cooper encounters a variety of doppelgängers in the Black Lodge, one of whom is a malevolent version of himself. His doppelganger switches places with him at the conclusion of the 1991 finale, trapping the original in the Black Lodge. In the show's sequel, Twin Peaks: The Return, three different doppelgängers are dispatched from the Black Lodge.

Christopher Nolan's 2006 psychological thriller, The Prestige, based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Christopher Priest, revolves around rival stage magicians in Victorian London. They feud over a perfect teleportation trick in which the performer appears to transport across the stage instantaneously. It is revealed that one of the illusionists has actually been using a doppelgänger to perform the trick -- his twin brother.

Another great use of doppelgängers appears in Stephen King's book, which was also made into a fantastic HBO series that was canceled way too soon: The Outsider. In it, the antagonist can use the DNA of individuals to become their near-perfect match through a science-fictional ability to transform physically. The allusion to it being a doppelgänger is made by the group trying to stop it from killing again.

Take these 17 celebrity pairs, for example: in Hollywood alone, there are plenty of celebrity lookalikes. You wouldn't believe they don't share the same genes. See what the stars have in common besides their physical traits as well as how they handle the comparisons below:
