Say goodby to May and hello to June. To keep you up to date on what is happening in Southwest Florida, here are 5 weekend events in Fort Myers and beyond, the latest edition of Weekend Vibes.

Saturday, June 1st, is the first day of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane season and it is predicted to be an active one. This weekend is a good time to brush up on your safety plans and get your hurricane kit in order.

Weekend Events In Fort Myers

This weekend is a big one if you are sports enthusiast. First, you can fish on both salt and fresh water this weekend without a license. License free fishing happens again next weekend too.

Next, if you like baseball the Mighty Mussels are in town and celebrating the end of the school year with all kinds of special promotions. Finally, the Florida Everblades are on fire, on the ice. They are playing in the Kelly Cup Championship and have games this weekend, however, these are on the road.

They are back in Fort Myers on Wednesday so put it on your radar. If they win, this will be the team's third championship in three years. Go Blades.

Mighty Mussels Baseball

The Mighty Mussels are in town taking on the Bradenton Marauders and celebrating the end of the school year. Students get free admission to Friday's game.  Saturday is Military Appreciation Night. All active-duty military personnel and veterans, get in free with a valid military ID. The first 500 fans also get a Camo Hat.

Sunday is free for kids’ and they can play catch from 11 to 11:30 a.m. After the game they can run the bases. More info here.

Fringe Fest

The second annual Fringe Fort Myers is back and with more acts. An international phenomenon, the festival features all kinds of experimental, underground and cutting-edge performers. You never know what you will encounter and that is part of the fun. The events take place at Lee County Alliance for the Arts as well as Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Fort Myers. Friday through Sunday. $25 More info here

SWING

There is a new show at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Fort Myers. SWING features the great music, singing and dancing of the Big Band Era. Tickets start at $35. More info here.

Island Vibe Music Fest

This music festival celebrates the sounds of the islands with reggae and more. Enjoy food, a Tiki Bar, and the Chill Cabanas. The gates open at noon, music begins at 1pm and runs until 10pm. Laishley Park in Punta Gorda. $25. More info here.

ReptiDay

If you like all things that crawl and hop and are scaly, this is for you. All kinds of vendors will be on hand and you can get up close and personal to a variety of reptilian creatures. The event is Saturday at the DoubleTree by Hilton at The Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers. 10am-4pm. Tickets start at $10 and must be purchased online. More info here.
