Imagine a life without all the digital platforms we use EVERY.SINGLE.DAY!

Imagine a life where you couldn't update your Facebook page with your beautiful pictures from your trip to Italy. How could you visually share those experiences with friend and family from afar? How could you keep your loved ones in the loop as far as your whereabouts? For so many, Facebook is the new morning newspaper.

Say, you own a business. What if Twitter didn't exist? How could your business connect with its customers and keep them updated on the latest information? How would you market your product and monitor the competition?

And for all you stay-at-home moms out there, what would you do without Pinterest? It's the one social media outlet that allows you to find just about any typical or extraordinary recipe or unique D-I-Y project you can think of. Looking for a white chocolate brownie recipe? In need of the perfect wedding party decorations to make? Pinterest has your back!

Without social media, how would we learn of breaking news stories that could potentially impact our lives and the people around us?

You get the point now. We use social media around the clock, whether it's on a personal or professional level and for all different reasons.

Did you know Mashable founded Social Media Day in 2010 as a "way to recognize and celebrate social media's impact on global communication?"

Although today is Social Media Day, we really have to wonder, isn't everyday Social Media Day? But today, in particular, be sure to overload the Internet with all things social!

Tweet, post, snap, hashtag, handle, react, "like", comment, click, share, follow, you know, the whole works. Have fun with it!

Here's how the Twitter world is celebrating Social Media Day!
