In honor of Apatow's big day, here are some of our favorite movies he's put out over the course of his career:
Bridesmaids
If you've ever been in a wedding, this movie speaks to you on a deep level. It summarizes the joy, hilarity, frustration, and confusion that comes with being a bridesmaid. The all-star cast features the hilarious Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Melissa McCarthy, among others.
Knocked Up
The movie focuses on Alison, an ambitious media personality who has a one night stand with a slacker goofball and finds out that she's pregnant. It's laugh-out-loud funny, but also has some poignant moments.
The 40-Year-Old Virgin
This is one of Apatow's first films, yet it's still a classic. Steve Carrell plays the awkward, hopeful protagonist looking to lose his virginity and hopefully find love along the way.
Anchorman
Perhaps one of the most quoted movies of all time, Apatow hit a homerun with Anchorman, which captures the story of a '70s TV personality who takes himself VERY seriously. It was the perfect parody of life in a newsroom and taught us many lessons, for example, always stay classy.
