Every year, there are new, popular items that the masses obsess over. Food trends can be highly Instagrammable while some can be questionable. Here are 7 food fads that made it big in 2017.

1. Black Ice Cream

Black Ice Cream is ultimately the anti-Unicorn creation. Social media took to the almond-charcoal flavor dessert that looks like something from a Goth’s dream.

2. Unicorn-themed everything.

Unicorn-themed items rocked menus throughout the United States. From drinks to sandwiches, there were very few places where you didn’t see something mythological.

3. Avolattes

Avolattes are highly interesting and mix together caffeine with millennial’s favorite fruit. We aren’t sure how this trend would taste, but we are sure we are going to see more coffee-vegetable creations in 2018.

4. Sushi burgers

Sushi burgers allow customers to ditch the bun and taste a health rendition of the meal. It’s essentially like a bigger version of the rolls, but has an even bigger taste.

5. Extream ice cream cones and milkshakes

There have been a series of outrageous desserts popping up everywhere. These items are essentially a sugar-lover’s dream!

6. Spaghetti Doughnuts

Spaghetti Doughnuts mash the Italian food and breakfast snack together. The noodles are mixed together with sauce, eggs and cheese. Once it’s baked, it’ll taste like a crispy piece of heaven!
