To keep the rest of the crew working, ABC decided to stick with a spin-off called 'The Connors,' but from the sound of it, it doesn't sound like it's going to be all that peppy. Think like '8 Simple Rules' after John Ritter died... but Roseanne isn't actually dead in real life.
John Goodman spoke about it briefly, and said, told by Billboard, that "he guessed that his character will be “mopey and sad” because his wife has died."
Dan Connor, who has always been more of the cornerstone of the show for his humor, and contrast to Roseanne, will probably go through a major shift, and we will see if the show can last without Barr. Chances are, it's not going to be AS successful, but it at least does keep the teams and crew working, which is honestly more important at this point.
