Bubblegum pink was the dominating trend on the 2019 Oscars red carpet. Yes, you read that right.
It was an unexpected surprise to see so many of the night's biggest stars wearing bright, daring shades of pink. But it was also a welcome change to see a bold and cheerful approach to one of fashion's most important nights.

The standout look was rising star Kacey Musgraves' Giambattista Valli confection, which was a daring pick for the singer's first time at the Oscars.

Sarah Paulson, one of fashion's reigning "bad girls," has become known for balking at safe red carpet looks, and her Brandon Maxwell gown was no exception.

Similar to Musgraves, Green Book star Linda Cardellini opted for bright pink and voluminous tulle. Her Schiaparelli couture dress, in one of their signature hues, was one of the most talked-about (and polarizing) looks. But love it or hate it, you can't deny that the actress went all in when it came to making a statement.

Dame Helen Mirren went for a pink and tangerine look that brought a fun and youthful twist to her usual "classic" Hollywood style. Accented with bright coral lipstick, Mirren was a breath of fresh air.
Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan also opted for pink, wearing a Valentino gown accented with pockets, while Maya Rudolph opted for a pink caped floral number.

Even couples got in on the pink trend as Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa donned looks in matching "millennial pink" hues.

For the stars who skipped the ballgown skirts, there was still plenty of pink to go around, if only in sleeker versions.
Meagan Good, Kiki Layne and Angela Bassett all chose versions of this look, each looking equally glamorous.

To add a perfect closing to the night, Julia Roberts presented the final award for Best Picture while also wearing, you guessed it, a pink dress.
