There's nothing festive or light-hearted about Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, so it's no surprise that a couple is under fire for using its likeness for their wedding photos. TMZ explains that newlyweds Kendra and Torsten have had huge backlash since their photographers posted one of their wedding pictures. In the photo, they are edited to look like they're kissing in from of the wall from The Handmaid's Tale. The same wall where characters in the show are hung and murdered for being disobedient. On each side of the couple are two handmaids.

Needless to say, people weren't happy.

The photographers, Van Daele and Russell, wrote under the now-deleted photo, "Praise be! Kendra & Torsten are married! If there's any The Handmaid's tale fans out there, you'll know most of it is filmed in Cambridge. So as fans of the show, it only seemed fitting for there to be some Handmaids in K&T's wedding photos along the 'hanging wall' in Mill Race Park!" They ended the post with a crying laughing emoji.

Since the backlash, the photographers have responded saying that those offended should "become engaged activists instead of simple keyboard warriors."
