NASCAR driver Ryan Newman has been treated and released from Halifax Medical Center, according to NASCAR.com. He had been hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after a wreck at the finish of Monday’s Daytona 500.

Earlier Wednesday, the team announced that Newman “continued to show great improvement.” According to Newman's racing team, Roush Fenway, the driver was joking with staff members, friends and family while playing with his two daughters. Hours later, he was officially released.
