It's an end of an era. After 30 years on-air, the television show Cops has been canceled. Per Deadline, this decision was made in the aftermath of George Floyd's death.

In a statement to the outlet, a Paramount spokesperson said, "Cops is not on the Paramount Network and we don't have any current or future plans for it to return." Cops premiered in 1989 and aired for 32 seasons. The new season was set to premiere on June 8.

Deadline also adds that last week, A&E pulled their new episode of the docuseries, Live PD, as nationwide protests over Floyd's death continue. As of right now, the network is evaluating whether to bring the show back to television.

UPDATE (June 11, 2020, 9:40 am): Deadline now reports that A&E has decided to cancel Live PD as well.
