People living in the area are upset about the odor and the noise coming from the Curaleaf marijuana farm near Krome Avenue in Miami-Dade County.  Curaleaf has built over 30 greenhouses in the area to grow weed and the local residents are unhappy with the odor coming from the exhaust fans. They are also upset about the noise from several generators. Curaleaf says the generators are needed until they can get upgraded power service from FPL.

In an interview with Local 10 resident and local attorney Yvette E. Blackwell-Gomez was quoted “If you are smelling this every day, all day, it’s in your garage, it’s in your house, it’s in your car when you pass by, how would you feel? You would be offended.”

The residents want Curaleaf to fix these issues. A spokesperson for Curaleaf says that the factory has passed all inspections and is compliant with state regulations. Since one of the neighborhood residents is also a lawyer, Curaleaf should probably prepare for an upcoming lawsuit.

I bet the Girl Scouts could making a killing selling cookies in that neighborhood.
