Emily Ratajkowski criticized This Is 40 while speaking to Amy Schumer at the Tribeca Film Festival over the weekend, saying that Megan Fox's character was treated "badly."

Per Buzzfeed News, the movie, directed by Schumer's mentor Judd Apatow, came up because she had just turned 40. The 30-year-old model said that the movie "is hilarious and very spot-on. I recommend everybody who has a husband or wife and kids to watch it [but] Megan Fox is treated in it so badly." Fox plays a character named Desi, who's accused of stealing money from the boutique she works at before it is revealed that she works as an escort.

Schumer asked, “Oooh, that movie is not aging well?” To which Ratajkowski replied, "That movie is not aging well." Ratajkowski later brought up the film again, asking Schumer who made it, which she said with a laugh, "It's Judd Apatow. I don’t care, I’m ready to burn that bridge to the ground tonight." Apatow directed Schumer's first starring feature film alongside Bill Hader in 2015, Trainwreck.

The media outlet reports that there are several scenes in the movie where Desi is objectified, including one in which Leslie Mann's character feels and discusses her breasts for an extended period of time. While Megan has never spoken specifically about her experience working on This Is 40, she has been vocal about the effect widespread public objectification of her body has had on her mental well-being.

As an extra for 2003's Bad Boys II, Megan told Jimmy Kimmel of director Michael Bay's decision to let a minor be drenched underneath a waterfall, "I was wearing a stars and stripes bikini and a red cowboy hat and six-inch heels, and he approved it. They said, 'You know, Michael, she’s 15, so you can’t sit her at the bar and she can’t have a drink in her hands.' So his solution to that problem was to then have me dancing underneath the waterfall, getting soaking wet." The audience and Kimmel laughed, which had Megan reiterate that she was 15 and in the 10th grade, adding, "That’s sort of a microcosm of how Bay’s mind works."

Later that year, Fox was fired from the Transformers series -- the series where she became a star. As a result, her career did not continue at the pace many had expected. She called Bay "a nightmare to work for" and compared him to Hitler. He claimed that her firing was ordered by Steven Spielberg, who denies the claim.
