After testing positive for COVID-19, Amanda Seyfried couldn’t celebrate her first Oscar nomination for her supporting role in Mank like she wanted to.

The 35-year-old actress revealed how she learned that she had COVID during a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

“I turned my phone off the night before because I was like, ‘If anyone’s going to tell me I got an Academy Award nomination or didn’t, I want it to be my mother -- she lives with us,'” she said on the October 27 show. “But I was also sleeping in because I had a tough case of COVID.”

"It was really hard not to talk about it because in the press, you have to do all of these interviews the next day," she continued, doing an impression of what she sounded like with COVID. "Yeah, no, I'm really happy, it's really exciting. No like, I couldn't be happier."

Seyfried explained that she didn’t want to tell anyone about how ill she really was “because [of] clickbait and stuff like that.”

"I was dealing with one of the worst moments of my life worrying that my mom was going to get sick -- she had been vaccinated, thank god because it was in March, right?" she tells Seth. "I had just gotten vaccinated two days before I got my positive result which was... thank you so much!"

Meyers joked saying, "It's great to get both!" To which Seyfried said, "It's great to have both, apparently. Hybrid immunity."
