2 Florida Airports Ranked Among Top Angriest In America

Recently, Forbes released a list of the Angriest Airports in America. They analyzed more than 37,000 tweets directed at the 60 busiest airports in the U.S. They established the list of airports based on total passenger boardings in 2021 as reported by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Then used a machine learning tool to analyze the sentiment of each tweet and determine where travelers are most annoyed.

Interestingly, the study revealed that over half (52%) directed at airports expressed anger. Delays, security, and hours were the top three words frequently used in these angry tweets.

According to the analysis, John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, angers its travelers more than any other major airport. The study showed that approximately 65% of tweets directed at John Wayne Airport exhibited a discernible level of anger. The most frequently mentioned terms in tweets by dissatisfied travelers at John Wayne Airport were "noise," "staff," "TSA," "complaints," and "delayed."

Two Florida airports have made it to the list of the angriest airports in America's ranking! Jacksonville International Airport takes the second spot, while Tampa International Airport secures the fourth position. It seems like travelers in Florida have been experiencing some serious frustrations. Some of the most mentioned words in their angry tweets include "line," "garage," "delays," "employees," "canceled," "security," and others.

But wait, there's more. In addition to the two previously mentioned airports, the list of the angriest airports includes not just two but four other Florida airports. Among the Florida airports that made it to the angriest list: Southwest Florida International Airport ranking at 23, followed by Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport at 26. Not too far behind, is Orlando International Airport securing spot 31, and Miami International Airport rounding up the list at 47.

Occasionally, we may forget something in the house, at an establishment, or maybe in your ride share. Uber released their seventh annual Uber Lost & Found Index. It shows which items riders leave behind the most often.

"As we head into another busy summer of travel, and hang on tight while Mercury makes its way back into Retrograde (which astrologists say influences forgetfulness), we're back with the seventh annual Uber Lost & Found Index," stated in a new release.

If you're the type to lose stuff, you might want to be extra careful on weekends. In the U.S., some of the most forgetful days of the week are Saturday and Sunday. Keep your guard up in April: April 5 and April 9 are the most forgetful days of the year. Coming in at third is New Year's Day. And the most common time of the day to report lost items is 11:00 p.m.

Certain lost items that peak on certain days. People are more likely to forget chargers on Mondays, passports on Saturdays, or  groceries on Sundays.

Uber highlighted the most forgotten items, the most unique lost items, and the most forgetful cities. Their data also provides a snapshot of which times of day and days of the week riders forgot items the most.

They explained that the most forgotten items include clothing, phones, backpacks, wallets, headphones, jewelry, keys, books, laptops, and watches.

When it comes to their most forgetful cities, Jacksonville, Florida is at the top of the list. Followed by San Antonio, Texas, and Palm Springs, California. Out of their top ten most forgetful cities, Florida is the only state with two cities listed which include Jacksonville (#1) and Miami (#6).

Those featured among the most unique things left in Ubers include a Danny DeVito Christmas ornament, a fog machine, an ankle monitor, small stone-carved whales, Britney Spears fantasy perfume, two fingernails, two pet turtles, a bidet, and others.
