Universal Orlando hosts one of the season's largest and most terrifying Halloween events: Halloween Horror Nights. This year, the event spans 48 select nights through November 3. The 33rd season of Halloween Horror Nights introduces 10 new haunted houses, five scare zones, a live show, and a variety of exclusive sweet and savory snacks, making it a must-visit.

“Here at Universal Orlando Resort, we are fortunate to collaborate with some iconic franchises and IPs. For this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, we drew inspiration from movies and shows to enhance our storytelling through our food and beverage offerings. It’s a fun event, so we get to be playful and not take ourselves too seriously, while still focusing on presentation and flavor,” said Chef Jens Dahlmann, vice president and executive chef of operations at Universal Orlando Resort.

Let’s Talk Spooky Eats

With food offerings dispersed throughout the park, sampling everything in one night is a challenge. However, the park does offer a Frequent Fear Pass, allowing you to revisit all the haunted houses and enjoy the delicious treats created by the food and beverage team at Universal Orlando. There are also numerous pop-up bars and drink stations where you can sip from a novelty cup.

“To coincide with our Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire haunted house, we drew inspiration from Slimer’s love of Cheetos. From that, we created a Korean-style corn Dog, Slimer’s Korean Corn Dog, that has green sage derby cheese and a hot dog on the inside, battered and dusted with Cheetos dust. When our guests bite into it, they get an oozy green cheese pull and the taste of Cheetos, creating a multisensory experience for them,” says Dahlmann.

One of the season's standout treats is the Mini Stay-Puft S’more from Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, located near the Park Plaza Holiday Shop. This classic campfire treat gets a cinematic twist as an open-faced s’more topped with chocolate and a marshmallow resembling the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.

Inspired by summer camp meals and drive-in movie snacks, the food booth themed around the Slaughter Sinema 2 house offers a range of savory bites. Try the Summer Camp Hot Dog, a deep-fried Nathan’s hot dog topped with nacho cheese, baked beans, pepper relish, and crushed Doritos. There are also two walking tacos, featuring either savory-spicy ropa vieja or vegan chili. Don't miss the Sinema Popcorn, flavored like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

Among the most chilling houses at Halloween Horror Nights is Insidious: The Further, which features a prominent red door. The food and drink team has transformed that door into The Red Door, a hand pie filled with potato and onion, encased in red pastry.

For a heartier option, try the Bloody Goody Bag from the Triplets of Terror booth. This bag is filled with a mix of crispy chicken chunks, fries, onions, peppers, and a creamy sauce that brings it all together.
