Florida Man Leads Cops In Low Speed Chase – Fails To Escape
Law enforcement trains for high speed chases with tactics such as stop sticks and PIT maneuvers. But what do you do when a Florida man leads the cops in a low speed chase? I guess you just follow along and wait until he gets bored. Patience, right?
33 year old Kyle McNary was having a bad day. He reportedly kicked a man out of his vehicle, and then, was involved in a hit and run. When Flagler County Sheriff deputies and Bunnell Police Department officers tried to pull him over, he led them on one of the slowest chases in history along U.S. 1. He was driving like he smoked an ounce of weed by himself.
Kyle’s bad day was about to get much worse – even after he surrendered to officers. BTW, it’s a low speed chase, the video isn’t overly thrilling. 🤣
Low Speed Chase
So the officer in the video did announce that stop sticks were out, but he also noted the vehicle was going “about a mile an hour”. Kyle was shown in cuffs at the end of the video, but the adventure continued.
According to the Sheriff’s Office “After arrest, McNary was transported to the hospital following a medical complaint. While at the hospital, he threatened and resisted deputies, going so far as to try to bite one of them.”
Kyle is going to be standing in front of a judge for quite awhile when his charges. He was initially charged with Simple Battery, Failure to Stop/Remain at a Crash Involving Serious Bodily Injury, Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement, and Obstruction without Violence. Seems the person he hit in the crash had to go to the hospital to have injuries treated. That’s the charges from the low speed chase. Now on to round 2.
The mayhem caused during his brief hospital stay will net him charges of Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer with Violence – Aggravated Assault, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Threat with Death or Serious Bodily Harm. Those charges, in addition to the low speed chase charges, are likely to keep Kyle off the road for quite some time.
