Previewing Summer At Universal Orlando Resort

I had a great time over the weekend, previewing summer at Universal Orlando Resort. It started with a live broadcast Friday from the cool studios on Hollywood Blvd in Universal Studios. When we arrived the park was closed so we were able to drive through it. I got to watch the first visitors stream through when the park opened. Those staying at a Universal resort get early admission. The best part was when the Mystery Mobile pulled up outside of the studio and Shaggy and Scooby-Doo jumped out. I watched that cartoon every Saturday morning growing up.

Following the broadcast I was lead through the new Minion Land and it is adorable. It makes you smile. There is a new minion café and a simulator ride where guests are turned into minions. A show featuring the cartoon's villains' is also about to open.

It's also Jurassic June. This month sees all kinds of fun surrounding the 30th anniversary of the very first Jurassic Park movie. If you like rollercoasters, I'm told you have to check out Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure. It is award winning for it's speed, dips and twists. I stayed at Cabana Bay Beach Resort which is at the entrance to Volcano Bay water park. The hotel is old school Florida, art deco, and so much fun.

One of the cool things about the layout of Universal Orlando Resort that CityWalk is the nucleus for both parks. It is at the entrance. You can not escape this dining and shopping destination, nor should you. I tried Cowfish for the first time and loved it. It is a burger and sushi restaurant. Get one or the other, get both, or get some crazy combo of both. It's quirky, it doesn't seem right, but it is. Check out the video this so-call burgushi that I attempted to eat.
