TikTok Tuesday Election Day Edition

It's the TikTok Tuesday Election Day Edition.  Super Tuesday is finally here. So here is a little something special for everyone going to the polls today, and also for all of you early voters.

Most of my social media accounts are full of videos pushing the virtues of one candidate or condemning another. I could not scroll through those fast enough. I wanted to find some humor in it but humor, when it comes to politics, is also a minefield right now.

I don't know about you, but I will be so darn glad when today is behind us, and the political ads on television will go away for another two years.

Hurricane Ian has caused a few problems when it comes to this election and voting so it's extremely important to take note here. The barrier islands in Lee County are devastated by the storm. Polling places there are not open. For the rest of Lee County, even if your regular polling place was not damaged, Lee County elections officials are not going to open them today.

Only the 12 early voting locations are open. That is only 12 of 97 polling places open to serve the entire county.  There are even fewer vote by mail drop boxes. This limited access is a pretty big deal and could drastically effect voter turnout. Here you can find those open polling places and more information.

In honor of election day, I've rounded up five videos that will make you laugh and perhaps inspire you to make the effort to vote today, if you have not already.
