Vowing to keep up the fight, students from across Florida made their case for safer school campuses, and reform of gun laws. They met with lawmakers in Tallahassee and some of the survivors of and parents of the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School shooting got some face time with the President….who vowed to get tougher on background checks..
Meanwhile Senator Marco Rubio held an emotional Town Hall hosted by CNN where he and NRA representatives faced a mostly hostile crowd.
Rubio did make some interesting comments during the Town Hall. He says he supports raising the age to buy rifles, he’s open to reconsidering the size of magazines and he disagrees with President’s Trump support of arming teachers and he had an interesting proposal he called a gun restraining order.
Locally…A social media threat to shoot up a local school has resulted in the arrest of a Cypress Lake High student…The photo in question showed a juvenile female holding a gun with the message “I’ll show you (expletives) a school shooting.
