It wasn’t so much brush fires as structure fires that kept fire crews busy over the weekend. In Bonita Springs, a house on Valois Drive burned down Saturday morning. The cause of the fire is being investigated. A charging lithium battery caused a house fire on Chianti Lane in Naples. One person was taken to the hospital in that blaze. And on Sunday morning a fire officials are causing suspicious ignited at the World Compass and Delivery building on Youngquist Avenue in Fort Myers. Authorities apparently took one person into custody in connection with the fire.
Meahwile, crews in Collier County continue to work on and monitor the Flag Pond and Greenway wildfires.
A Collier County teacher was arrested over the weekend and charged with DUI. April Jones was pulled over on Immokalee Rd Friday night. Police say she could barely keep her eyes open and her husband was unconscious in the back seat with his pants down. She was taken to the Collier County jail.
50 year old David Rochelle, a firefighter with the Collier County Department has been arrested for allegedly filming his ex-wife while she used the bathroom. According to police Larochelle installed a camera in the bathroom of his home on Verde Drive. His ex-wife was using a room in the home ans an office, that’s when the filming occurred. He’s been released on $5,000 bond.
