Look for an increased police presence at Fort Myers High School this morning. A bomb threat termed not credible was e-mailed to the school from a person identifying themselves as DJ Sister Tip. Police have been investigating the threat all weekend and are assuring parents that they are taking the necessary precautions to keep students safe today
A 25 year old woman was killed Saturday night in a shooting incident near Matheson Avenue and Park Avenue in Bonita Springs. Destiney Bocanegra was shot and killed around 11pm. The killer is still at large.
Police are looking for a suspect who shot at a Collier County Deputy early this morning. The incident happened around 3 this morning in a parking lot near 2500 Immokalee Road. The deputy is OK, and the investigation is continuing.
A Cape Coral man was arrested over the weekend when he pulled out a gun at the Whiskey Park Bar in Naples. Police say Carlos Restrepo became irate when the pen he was using to sign his receipt wouldn’t work. The suspect threatened to kill the bartender and then reached for his gun. He was arrested in his car a short time later and found to be in possession of 3 guns and a set of brass knuckles. He’s been charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Kate Middleton arrived at the hospital this morning in “early stages of labor” according to a Buckingham Palace statement. This will be Kate and Prince William’s 3rd child.
