Putting peanuts into Coca-Cola is a thing. Apparently it brings out their two distinct flavors, melding them into one salty-sweet combo. But you have to use the salted variety. Esquire, who first reported on the trend, says the peanuts stay crunchy, offering a snack at the end of the drink, which writer Justin Kirkland calls "the working man's strawberries in champagne." The National Peanut Federation claims the practice likely originated in the 1920s because workers with dirty hands didn't want to touch their peanuts. Do you have a food combo that would seem weird to others but is actually really good?
