 21-year-old Aubrey Mixon of Naples, reported missing over the weekend was found dead after a crash on I-75  yesterday.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Environmental activist Erin Brockovich will join a panel discussing clean water issues at The Burroughs Home  in Fort Myers on Wednesday afternoon.  The  program will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calooshahatchee riverfront pavilion on the Burroughs estate on First St.

 

The Cape Coral City Council voted unanimously Monday to draft a letter to the state departments of health and environmental protection asking them to test the air quality for toxins caused by the toxic algae.  Cape Coral’s  Environmental Resources Division does not have the proper equipment to conduct air quality testing, and purchasing that equipment would be an enormous cost for the city.

 

The Florida Democratic Party has chosen a candidate to replace April Freeman who passed away suddenly last week. Alan Ellison of Highlands County will replace Freeman against Greg Steube in Florida’s 17th Congressional District race.

 

It’s one of the most talked about Grand Openings I can remember. The Fort Myers Krispy Kreme store on U.S. 41  opens Oct. 16. The store opens at 6 a.m., and the first guest through the door will receive one dozen free Original Glazed doughnuts each week for one year.

Madonna Says New Album Coming in 2019

  • Madonna fans are going to have to wait a little longer to hear a new project from Madonna.
  • The Queen of Pop revealed in a new interview with Women’s Wear Daily that her new album will be out next year.
  • “I’m finishing my record, which I’m going to release next year,” she said. Madonna also added, “Yep, in between rose mist spray and serums, I’m actually making music. Can’t quit my day job.”
  • Madonna had previously said that she would release new music in 2018 so we will wait to see if she releases a single this year.
