The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death at a home on the 8600 block of Cypress Lake Drive shortly after 8 last night. No further information is available
Police have arrested 20-year-old Melvin Williams, a registered sex offender, wanted in Lee County for throwing a rape victim off a bridge. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Williams is accused of raping a female at gunpoint and throwing her off a Fort Myers bridge. Williams was taken into custody in North Port after leaving a hotel in Port Charlotte earlier this week.
81 year old Hellmuth Kolb is charged with false imprisonment and battery. Police said Kolb tried to buy an 8-year-old girl from her mother at a Walmart in Port Orange for $200,000. Kolb fled after the incident, but was soon tracked down by police and taken into custody on Saturday.
