Erin Brockovich fired up the crowd at the Burroughs Home in Fort Myers yesterday at a Town Hall Meeting for Clean Water organized by the Uncommon Friends Foundation. Brockovich urged the crowd to be “disrupters,” and contact local officials to demand that something be done to clean up the algae and red tide that has plagued our waters for several months. Brockovich has been in Florida all week getting a first hand look at our water issues. She says our problem is something that can be reversed, but local residents need to organize and petition our elected officials to ensure that action is taken.
Two former female employees at the popular Bubble Room Restaurant on Captiva announced yesterday that they’ve filed a $15,000 lawsuit against the restaurant and it’s parent company Captiva Foods Inc., alleging two male workers would “routinely subject the female staff to a pattern of severe and pervasive sexual harassment,” including inappropriate and sexually suggestive comments to female coworkers who were younger. - A source close to the now-32-year-old told People magazine: “She’s very good at living her life and to hell with what other people think,” the source said. “If she wants to have another kid, she’ll have another kid. She doesn’t care what you or I or anyone else thinks.”
- The Casey Anthony trial took place in 2011. Authorities didn’t find any of her DNA on the duct tape used to suffocate her daughter. Do you believe that Anthony killed her daughter?
