The Lee County Sheriff’s Office calls it a “targeted shooting.” 2 people killed…one wounded in a shooting Tuesday night at the Bell Tower Shops. Sheriff Carmine Marceno identified the men killed as 56 year old Kevin Robinson, and 22 year old Javarcia Riggins. An unidentified woman was also shot and another person was injured by flying glass. Original reports had 4 people shot. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477. The Bell Tower Shops has reopened and they say they intend to address security concerns in the wake of the shootings.
And we had a shooting incident overnight at the Sungold Plaza, a strip mall across from Lee Memorial Hospital. Police had to close US 41 for close to six hours following the shooting. No further details are available.
Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly tried to sexually assault a woman near Barbie and Tucker Lanes in North Fort Myers. The suspect is described as was wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, cowboy boots and riding a black bike. Call Crimestoppers if you have any information.
Hurricane Michael was downgraded to a tropical storm late Wednesday, but is still considered a major threat as it heads into Georgia and North Carolina with 50 mile-per-hour winds. When the hurricane landed near Florida’s Mexico Beach, it had winds of 155 miles-per-hour making it almost a Category 5 storm and caused devastation through a large swath of the Florida Panhandle. The storm could still bring rains that could create flash floods in Georgia, North and South Carolina and Virginia.
The Florida Department of Health in Collier County has posted health advisories at the following beaches after testing showed bacteria levels in the water to be high.
The affected beaches include:

- Residents Beach
- South Marco Beach
- Park Shore
- Barefoot Beach
- Vanderbilt Beach
- Seagate Beach
