Police were at the scene of a drive-by shooting on Palm Avenue near the intersection of Blake Street last night. Witnesses say someone in a green truck fired shots into a home. One person was injured. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
Fire crews were out working on an apartment fire at The village of Cedarbend Apartments on Cedarbend Drive last night just before midnight. It doesn’t appear that anyone was injured.
We have our first flu death in Florida. Florida health officials say a young child died from Influenza B on October 6th. Her name is being withheld to protect the family’s identity. The child that died did not have a flu vaccination.
55 year old Maria Quinones has been arrested after ramming into a couple of unmarked Cape Coral police cars Sunday night. She was charged with DUI and porperty damage.
A group of local mayors will not get support from Lee County Commissioners in a legal fight to change our areas water management district decisions on water releases from Lake Okeechobee. Instead, Lee County Commissioners approve sending the water district a letter calling for more water releases during the dry season, rather than getting the county involved in a legal battle.
